Bad family news.

My aunt, the one with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, has just been informed that the cancer has spread to her lungs, pancreas, kidneys, and liver. The next step is to proceed with another bone marrow transplant. This time they will find a donor rather than use her own cells.

My mother and grandparents are struggling with this news. Please just keep them in your prayers. Mom also said today she wished Sullivan would hurry his little butt up and bring some joy to the family. Maybe some prayers that he'll come on and brighten my grandparent's holidays would be nice.

Sorry for the sad update.

Sucky Dr. Appointment

Still 50% effaced. Still not dialated. I was up from midnight to two last night with contractions every 8-10 minutes that didn't do JACK SHIT. Lame. To top off the crappy news, I wore my shirt inside out to the appointment AND had to get a finger prick to check to anemia. Oh, and I gained 3lbs this week. Sweet. The doctor said it's probably water weight considering my fingers look like sausages, and I now have cankles. So, all in all, it was a disappointing trip. Here's hoping Sullivan starts to cooperate and my body does what it needs to do.

PS-LL, yes, Southpark! It's awesome.

Chugging on!

Here's me at 36w3d! I can't believe I can still grow...good grief.
Since I have atleast three people that still read this blog (thanks, y'all!), I'll be a good girl and try to keep up with it better!

Tomorrow is my 37 week appointment. I am SO hoping there has been some progressed. At my last appointment, I was 50% effaced with no dialation. I would love for Sullivan to come on his own, but if he doesn't, I need to be favorable for an induction. He has to be here by December 2nd so his daddy can get some time with him before his deployment date of December 15th. So, onto my bouncing birth ball and around the block I will walk again until hopefully there's some change!

Today I'm going up to a great mall in Charlotte because I have a $10.00 off coupon to Lucky Jeans, and they have the most adorable onesies. I'd also like to get a couple pairs of BabyLegs from Nordstroms because I have a million onesies and no pants. Sully needs to stay warm this winter! Taylor thinks BabyLegs are far to feminine for a little boy, but I bet I can find some that will work.

To Blog or not to Blog?

Honestly, I should probably retire this blog by now. I rarely write in it. Everytime I think about posting an new message I talk myself out of it. I have no idea why I'm so reluctant to put my thoughts down, but for some reason, it takes great effort for me to type out what's going on in my life.

I'm going to try to keep this blog for awhile simply because I think it may be more useful for me when Sullivan is here and Taylor is deployed. I'm also hoping that my thoughts will resonant with other military wives and give them a sense of not being alone. So, I'll keep peddling my thoughts until I can't do it anymore.

In baby news, we're full term on Wednesday! I'm so excited, and I'm SO READY. Sullivan, Mommy says you can come out anytime after Wednesday. You're running out of room, and Mommy's bladder and ribs would be appreciative if you went ahead and made your debut!

His nursery is almost complete. I'm waiting on a dresser (that should be here Friday or Saturday), and once I get it all set up, we're done! I can't wait to have his room completely finished. I love it so far! I also had a maternity shoot. I'll include a few of the pictures in this post so you can see. Kimberly Wyatt of Paisey Photography in Rock Hill, SC, took the pictures. She was easy to work with, and I think they turned out pretty well!

I'm still alive!

DH has had a two week leave vacation, so obviously my blog kind of got neglected. I promise to update again this evening once he heads back. I just hate to waste time blogging while he's home! Check in soon.

32 weeks

So, getting through the weeks without Taylor has been not so fun. I know it's something we have to do, but it sucks. I miss him more than I can say, and I hate being separated before we have to deal with an extended separation. Like I said before, it's been good for me to focus on being more self-sufficient, and I've done a lot by myself that I never would have tried before, but I miss having him here all the time

OK, enough complaining, we've made it to 32 weeks! I'm simultaneously thrilled and freaking out at the same time. Our doctor is not going to let me go overdue because of Taylor's deployment, so Sullivan will be here in 8 weeks or less! Honestly, the only part that freaks me out a little is that I will no longer be just a couple with my husband. I'm afraid that I'll miss our time together alone. I'm also nervous about re-adjusting when Taylor gets back from deployment, and Sullivan and I have to get used to working as a family of three. It's all alot to think about, but I know things will be fine.

I'm not even doing a survey this week because everything is the same, but I'll post a belly pic soon!

31 weeks!

So we've made it to 31 weeks, and I managed to gain almost 5lbs in two weeks. Awesome. The doctor doesn't seem concerned at all because my blood pressure and urine samples were "perfect" (weird, it the world of pregnancy you hope for "perfect" urine), but it still freaks me out a bit. She said that baby probably just had a growth spurt, though I know it's really because mama loved her fries too much these past couple weeks. Time to slow down a little or else I'll be dealing with a ton of extra weight to get rid of when Sully arrives! No thank you.

I like my new doctor's office, though I wasn't crazy about the OB I saw yesterday. However, there's a male doctor I saw a couple weeks ago and will be seeing again in two weeks that is prior service and has a great personality. He was much easier to talk to and ask questions, so I think I'll see if I can stick with him. The nursery is close to complete! I still need to place pictures, get new curtains, and I'm waiting on a dresser to come in, but I'm excited about the progress. Here's a little preview of the nursery and a survey.

How far along?: 31 weeks
Total weight gain: 24 lbs...eek!
How big is baby?: A little over 3lbs :-)
Maternity clothes?: Absolutely.
Stretch marks?: Not yet...
Sleep?: Awful.
Best moment this week?: Working on the nursery and having it almost done!
Movement?: It's more of a rolling movement rather than kicks now, but he's very active!
Food cravings?: Fries and ice cream...note the 5lb weight gain.
Labor signs?: No BH contractions yet.
Belly button in or out?: In, but dangerously close to popping out.
What I miss: Sleep, white wine, and RUNNING. Also, jeans that don't give me "Mom Butt."
What I'm looking forward to: Getting in the last of the nursery furniture.
Milestone: Making it over 3/4ths of the way there!
